The Best PhD thesis in SLP Award

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first “The Best PhD thesis in SLP” Award!

This initiative, jointly developed with The Informed SLP, aims to promote the dissemination of evidence-based practice projects from PhD research carried out in Europe, regarding SLP-related research questions.

 

To participate, we invite PhD holders in SLP-relevant areas to share with us a video of their thesis following the 3MM (three minutes method). Submissions will be posted on ESLA’s and The Informed SLP’s  social media accounts.

 

The winners will be informed by the 31 May 2024 and announced officially at the 12th ESLA Congress to be held in Bruges, Belgium from 26th to 28th September 2024.

The 1st classified will be entitled to: 

  • One registration for the 2024 ESLA Congress;
  • Give an oral presentation during the 2024 ESLA Congress;
  • Present during a webinar, which will be organised by ESLA and The Informed SLP.

The 2nd classified will be entitled to:

  • A one-year subscription with The Informed SLP;
  • Present during a webinar, which will be organised by ESLA and The Informed SLP.

 

Procedures & Regulations

Videos submissions must not be longer than 3 minutes (in alignment with typical “Three Minute Thesis” challenges). Submissions must be sent to esla@eslaeurope.eu, accompanied by the title of the contribution, the name and affiliation of the applicant.

Submissions must be recorded in English. By submitting a video, applicants agree to the video being published on ESLA’s and The Informed SLP’s social media accounts.

 

Applicants must be SLPs, i.e., their first degree must be in SLP. The work presented must have been conducted as part of their doctoral studies in any SLP-related area.

The PhD defense should date no older than two years ago.

Applications must be accompanied with proof that they have successfully completed their PhD programme. Only one submission per applicant is permitted.

Applications not respecting any regulations will automatically be excluded.

 

Deadline for the applications is the 30th April 2024.

 

Selection process

A scientific committee representing The Informed SLP and ESLA members will evaluate contributions for their, originality, relevance to the field of SLP, communicative impact of the video, innovation, and promotion of professional identity.
