Education

ESLA, together with the ESLA Congress Task Force and the ESLA Member Associations, organizes a scientific congress every two years. The main aim of ESLA congresses is to exchange scientific and professional information, encourage research and European harmonisation within speech and language therapy / logopaedics.

The structure of the congress has evolved along the years, at first just a few parallel sessions and plenary sessions to 17 parallel sessions at the 5th congress in Edinburgh. The program of the 10th CPLOL congress included 4 keynote speakers, 22 parallel sessions and 221 e-poster presentations.

The responsibility of the committee organising - the ESLA Congress Task Force - such conferences has grown larger over the years. In fact, this committee is responsible for choosing the theme of the congress, setting up the program, sending out the call for papers and posters, selecting the ones for the program and promoting the conference at different levels.

The last edition, the 11th ESLA Congress, was held in Saltzburg, Austria, from the 26th to the 28th May 2022.
More than 400 participants from more than 35 countries all around the world attended the Congress, either online or in site.
We received a total of 235 abstracts submitted for scientific contributions.
We had 5 keynote speakers, 185 presenters, 66 E-Posters, 66 online Presentations, 44 on-site Presentations, and 32 Live Posters.
